From his early life as the son of a PEI fisherman, growing up surrounded by pickers & singers, to his years touring North America in punk & metal bands, Jay Gavin has come full circle and returned to his roots in country, folk & bluegrass. With a string of singles, two EPs and an album under his belt, Jay is well known for his natural authenticity, his often-humorous, twangy, foot-stompin’ songs and his rollicking, good timin’ live shows. Whether backed by a full band or stripped down with just his guitar, Jay's live show is more like a party. You'll laugh and sing and dance and go home feeling that you've made a new friend.

Jay's last EP “Therapy”, August 2022  was recorded live off the floor with producer Jeff Zipp at Hipposonic in Vancouver BC. Three singles, ‘Harley Someday, ‘North of Tennessee’ and ‘Got Myself a Harley’, were released in lead up to the drop of the EP.

2023 will see the release of a series of singles from Jay Gavin’s forthcoming album recorded with the Nashville Music Group and Grammy-nominated producer Denny Knight (Waylon Jennings, Conway Twitty, Mel Tillis). Along with engineer Bobby Bradley and a smokin' band of Nashville A-listers like Jeff Williams (June Carter Cash’s Living Circle Band) on guitar, Steve Hinson (George Jones, Alan Jackson, Randy Travis) on pedal steel and dobro and Deannie Richardson (Vince Gill, Bob Seger, Sister Sadie) on fiddle this is sure to be Jay Gavin’s breakout album. The legendary outlaw songwriter, Billy Don Burns, himself, guests on one track. “Rhythms & Rhymes” a tribute to John Prine’s “Paradise” was the first single released in April 2023.

On the heels of a series of successful songwriter tours in Western Canada and WA state, summer tour plans include the Canadian Atlantic provinces in July, Sturgis Motorcycle Rally gigs in and around WY, SD, UT and MT in August and back to TN and TX in September. Whether backed by a full band or stripped down with just his guitar, Jay's live show feels more like a party. You'll laugh and sing and dance and go home feeling that you've made a new friend. Jay can't wait to share a song and a beer with his fans across North America this year!
